Now, I have it on this one.
We are also looking for another Pom.
Not an easy search to be sure.
Take care sweetie.

I had surgery Wednesday to have that new port put into my abdomen.
He also removed two adhesions, and some fluid that was on top of the mesh,
plus trimmed the excess off of the mesh.
They kept me over night, and released me the next morning.
Personally, I think they should have kept me another day or two.
I am so sore, I cannot hardly move.
It is easing up some though, just little by little (very little LOL)
So, I am just taking it easy and doing a lot of resting.
The weather sure was beautiful today after our little thunder storm
came roaring through. Wish I could sit out in the sun, but alas, I burn easily.

Love you all bunches!

Got the staples removed yesterday
He said the drainage I am having at the port site is normal.
It will continue to drain until scar tissue forms to block it off.
So...I call the oncologist today to set up an appointment
to start the abdominal wash chemo. The oncologist said
it will be painful and uncomfortable, but it surely cannot
be any worse then anything else I have been through.
So wish me luck guys!

Yea, it hurt, but not so bad that I could not stand it.
I am now taking the duiretics to get rid of the excess fluid.
I go back in a week for another treatment.
He wants to get the treatments done as soon as possible,
so I can get the port removed as soon as possible.
There's a risk for infection, that's why.
So, will do what I gotta do.
(((hugs))) to all.

And thank you Liz for the good luck.

Well, I opted not to have chemo today.
Early Tuesday morning I woke with pain in my upper right abdomen.
I ended up going to the ER, and it turns out I had
another bowel obstruction. I think the ambulance ride there got rid of it though,
because it passed. But my abdomen is really sore still so I opted not to have the chemo done today.
I will try Wednesday if it feels better by then.
I'm trying to do this but my body is not allowing me to do it. So we will see come Wednesday what the verdict will be.
So, wish me luck people.

Maidenn,
Good luck. I sure hope everything works out for you. You've been through so much & still have so much more to go through.
Is there something causing these bowel obstructions that they could do something to prevent them? It just seems like they reoccur often enough that perhaps the docs could do something.
Sure hope you feel better soon.

Hugs

PostSubject: Re: Ramblings Of A Madwoman   Ramblings Of A Madwoman - Page 8 Icon_minitime8th June 2011, 23:25

Diabetics are susceptable (spelling?) because their bowels run slower then normal peoples do.
Plus, because of the bowel resection I had to have done, sets me at a high risk for them.
They say a diet high in fiber helps, but I am on that, and it still happened.
Its just something I have to learn to live with is all.

Well, I did the chemo today, and depending on what happens this time, I have one more treatment to do. None, if anything happens with this treatment though.
Then I will be having surgery to remove the abdominal port as soon as possible.
One of the doctors at the ER when I was admitted, seemed to think the chemo could have caused that bowel obstruction. So, we will see...
So far, so good. No more pain, and I have taken the duiretics for today. I have to take then for three more days. And the bloating will be gone then.
I lost 5 pounds since last Wednesday. Woohoo!

Our little puppy Bandit had a check up yesterday at the vets, and he got his adult shots. The vet says he is a perfectly healthy Pomeranian.
He weighs 1 pound and 13 ounces, and he is 3 months old now. He is a tea cup Pom, and won't get a whole lot bigger.
We were relieved as one of his litter mates dropped dead from a heart attack last week. Boy were we scared.
We are pretty attached to this little guy.

I did not have to have surgery to have the catheter/port removed.
He just ripped it out. It had not had time to form
much scar tissue. It hurt a bit, but does not hurt now.
I am putting Neosporin on it and its doing fine.
So all is good here.

Seen the oncologist today.
Had bloodwork done, and it seems
that I am severely anemic.
So, had to have two shots done,
more blood tests to do some sort of
tests for iron. And, I have CT Scan to do on
July 6th. These are just routine to keep
an eye on things inside. I was told it will
be from the top of my shoulders, to my crotch area,
with contrast. I have to do them about evrery 6 months.
So far, all I feel is very tired, but I am not getting too
much sleep. Maybe I should try to catch some zzz's. LOL
Love you all!

CT Scan showed nothing wrong, meaning the cancer is not back, and has not spread.
It did however show that I had a lot of junk in my lungs,
so I will be having to find me a good sinus pill that I
can take all the time.
I am still anemic. Had to have another pro creat shot,
and a bag of iron. It took five hours to do the infusion.
Doc said I will need another bag of iron, and I will be going back for that in two weeks.
I feel okay, just tired is all. Although I don't feel tired today. LOL
So really all was good on this check up.

Well...I was admitted into the hospital around 2 am Saturday morning.
I was released yesterday after some tests were run.
Seems I have a severe case of gastritus.
I mean the entire stomach area is very red and angry looking.
They ran a camera down into my stomach for a look-see.
They took three biopsies, to test for bacteria, to find possible cause.
I am getting so inflamed in there that it is blocking my intestines off.
Thats partly why I am so anemic as well.
I find out the results in 3 weeks.
In fact, I have to call today to set up the date and time.

I was in the hospital again.
From 7/31 to just today.
I had ecolli. They did intravaneous antibiotics,
and now I have 12 days worth of antibiotics to take, and I should be all better by then.
I still feel pretty crappy, so am going to get off here and head to bed.

I was in the hospital again.
I was admitted in on the 13th, and was just released today.
I had surgery to have a lot of adhesions removed that were
causing me to have bowel obstructions. Hopefully that
solved my problem.
I have a nother problem now though, my surgeon is moving away
from the area and I have to find another one.
I am fixing to go on-line and see if I can find out anything about a
possible, I may have found. Plus, my surgeon
suggested him to me...
